Food + Music = Chico's Thursday Night Market

If any of you have been to Chico, California you'll know there is an equal amount of college students and bicycles, but you may have missed their Thursday Night Market. Running from the beginning of April to September, you can see a variety of performers, vendors, and artists stretching three blocks in downtown Chico. Although I've attended this event two weeks in a row, it did not lose its' charm and neither did the food. If you love food trucks, this is the place for you...everything from cupcakes to shredded pork sandwiches call to you from their wheeled homes.
Is that Kim Possible? No, that's the cupcake crusader...obviously.
Happy cows or Happy truck?

Although all these food trucks and booths looked delicious, I opted for a restaurant instead. The Pita Pit is basically the Subway of pitas, which if you don't know are basically the love-child of a burrito and a wrap. I was very very happy about my pita and when my friends heard about it, they had to try it for themselves when we went back the second week.

First snow cone of the summer...YUM.

The Chico Downtown committee likes to showcase the musical talent of it's town and every street rocks to the beat of its' own musician. Also, throughout the evening performers are switched out on the two stages located in the main square. In this square is also a fountain that kids(and adults) can cool off in and lately a group of 'yogis' practicing complex yoga moves I can only dream of mastering.

I've never seen kids happier then when they are playing in this fountain.
Please let me join in your magical flexibility!
This man is the master of balance.
The magicians have an affinity for playing barefoot...
Thursday Night Market offers tons of fun activities, artists, and produce to entertain you for a few hours on your lazy Thursday evenings.

Amazing spray paint artist

Flowers, vegetables, and fruit... all fresh and all beautiful!
Hula-hooping is a circle of fun...haha get it....
I definitely recommend going to Thursday Night market if you ever find yourself in Chico on a Thursday. Grab some friends and get a bite to eat and sit back a people watch and you'll be happy as can be in the smuggling heat of Butte Valley. This week I'll be gone at a LDS Girl's camp and won't be near a computer...or electritcity for that matter, I'll try my best to take way too many pictures and post our shenanigans here. Jewel.
